DESCRIPTION:Our Grade II listed church building will be open on Friday 19 
 September and Saturday 20 September from 10am to 4pm.  It will be open aga
 in from 1pm on Sunday 21 September\, following usual morning service.  The
  weekend ends with "Songs of Praise"  in church at 4pm on Sunday.   The th
 eme will be Architecture.  Expect to see displays on the church going back
  to its opening in 1864\, and going forward as we plan for future work to 
 ensure its sustainability to serve the town and its people for coming gene
 rations.  Expect to find refreshments and guides on hand.  Expect to see b
 anners in church from local primary schools\, and church records going bac
 k in history.  Expect fun activities for all ages including hearing the hi
 storic pipe organ playing.\n\nWe are taking part in this national scheme t
 o explore and celebrate our diverse heritage. 5000 events across the natio
 n will be providing countless opportunites for more people to come togethe
 r and enjoy\, often surprising\, always interesting\, doorstep discoveries
 !  Our sister church\, St Mary's near Close Park\, will be open in a simil
 ar way the previous weekend\, 12-14 September.\n\nWe look forward to welco
