Church of England Diocese of Newcastle Seghill

We are open!

27 Jun 2020, 11:15 a.m.

Dear friends, you are very much in our prayers.

We write to let you know that we can return to worship in our churches on Sunday July 5th, at our usual Service times:

9am HOLY TRINITY & 10:30am ST MARY`S

Our Services will be a bit different for a while, but at least we will be together again. The Churches are regularly cleaned, and we are following the guidance regarding social distancing and hygiene, so you will be safe. Folks living in the same household can sit together, and if anyone wishes to wear a face mask, that is fine!

Maintenance work has been carried out at Holy Trinity Church, with repairs to the roof. We are now watertight at the Church and the Church hall. As posted on “A Church Near You” website, we have had to apply for a Retrospective Faculty. Different materials have been used from the original Victorian build. However, everything looks exactly the same as it did before. The Public Notice is displayed on the Church Noticeboard at Seghill, Holy Trinity Church. Most of the cost (£10,000) has been through grants, and the remainder from the Parochial Church Council Building Fund. At St Mary`s, we are re-painting the blue wooden side panels and clearing the gutters once again.

These last few months have proved to be a very challenging time for us all, but as a Christian Church we continue to be prayerful and faithful. The Lord Jesus Christ will sustain us.

Finally, if your pledged giving is through the envelope scheme, we can collect them. Please telephone either of us. If you prefer to write a cheque, again we can collect it. We need to keep things going and to pay our bills. Keep safe, and we look forward to welcoming you back to your Church again soon.

Kind regards,

Father Phil-Vicar

Father Darren-Curate
