At St. Gabriel’s we have been praying for the day when places of worship can open their doors to the public again and we are pleased to hear that they can do so from Monday, 15th June. We shall put everything in place to make sure that people can be safe when coming into the church, following the guidelines that we have received and the risk assessment that we have prepared.
Over the last couple of months we have come to realise at a greater depth just what a house of prayer has come to mean to us - a place that holds memory, story, prayer and worship and a place of encounter. Churches are not designed to be empty! Prayer here has continued to be offered and we’re looking forward to big celebrations in the future and to seeing familiar faces as well as new ones.
In the meantime, please keep faithful in prayer. You might use this prayer at this time:
Visit, we beseech thee, O Lord, this place, and drive from it all the snares of the enemy; let thy holy angels dwell herein to preserve us in peace; and may thy blessing be upon us evermore; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
