In early July Brinkburn Priory, much loved by many folk both locally and across the country, will be opening to visitors again after lockdown. For the present visitors must book their visit in advance with English Heritage so that they can control the numbers on site at any time and ensure social distancing in line with Government guidelines. The English Heritage website says:
Brinkburn Priory will open on 4 July. You now need to book your timed tickets in advance. Tickets will be available to book soon. We have introduced limits on visitor numbers to help keep everyone safe, and you won’t be able to visit without your booking confirmation. If you’re a Member, your ticket will be free but you still need to book in advance. There will be other new steps in place to ensure everyone’s safety, so your visit will be a little different.
We don't yet know when any church services - including weddings - will be permitted, either in St Mary's or at Brinkburn, but we know there will be much rejoicing among both church members and the wider community, when these buildings can once again be used for the purpose for which they were built
