The new Bishop of Berwick is Mark Wroe, born and bred in the North East, and a vicar in Newcastle for more than ten years before being appointed to his previous position of Archdeacon of Northumberland. He says he loves our area, and often visits Alnmouth with his family. The Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, consecrated him as a bishop in a service at York Minster on Tuesday 5th January: watch the service on YouTube here Our picture shows the act of consecration, led by the Archbishop along with the Bishop of Newcastle, Christine Hardman, and the Bishop of Chester - Mark's predecessor as Bishop of Berwick, Mark Tanner
