A Letter from the Vicar as we begin to emerge from lockdown
Greetings to you all,
I hope this finds you well and able to embrace the recent easing of lockdown.
As you will know the Prime Minister has released churches to be able to hold worship services in church as from 4 July as well being open for private prayer. Our churches have been open for private prayer for 2 weeks now, so please do take the opportunity to put prayer back into our churches.
Having met with leaders of St. Michael’s & St. Mary’s, I am pleased to announce that we are of one mind in regards to holding worship services back in our church buildings – we want to do so gradually. There are many logistical challenges to re-opening (not least the capacity of our buildings whilst maintaining the Governments’ required 2-metre social distancing for churches) and so it makes sense to go gradually.
We will continue our main act of worship online, but as from Monday 13th July, we will also offer the following pattern of said services - no singing allowed for the present! The details are also listed on the attached downloadable poster
Monday: Morning Prayer 10.00 am - St. Michael’s Church, Felton
Wednesday: Morning Prayer 9.30 am St. Mary’s Church Longframlington.
Friday: Evening Prayer 6 pm St. Michael’s Church, Felton.
Sunday: Morning Worship Anytime Online on YouTube
Service of the Word online
Sunday: Holy Communion 6 pm St. Mary’s Church, Longframlington.
We hope we can provide for different people in different ways and we continue working together as two churches – so please access any of the above services, whichever church you usually attend, but please get the right location! As we are living in an evolving time, our provision will also evolve with time, but for the next couple of months, this will be our pattern. And a huge thank you to those who have offered to lead these services and make this possible, as well as those who continue to serve us on Sunday mornings.
Blessings on you
