 Ceolwulf was King of Northumbria from 729 to 737 AD\, when he became a mon
 k at Lindisfarne. He was the ‘most glorious king’ to whom the Venerabl
 e Bede dedicated his History of the English Church and People. During Viki
 ng raids in the 9th century\, the Lindisfarne monks brought the bodies of 
 both Cuthbert and Ceolwulf to Norham. Cuthbert’s body later continued it
 s journey to Durham\, but Ceolwulf remained buried somewhere in Norham. No
 rham Primary School Norham St Ceolwulf's CE Primary School was named after
  him in 2005
