1. No services, no collections! Ouch!
BADBY CHURCH – STILL HERE FOR YOU
Badby Church like all places of worship, was closed physically at the start of the coronavirus pandemic by order of the Archbishop following instructions from the government. Although churches were allowed to re-open in July for private prayer, and later for services with strict rules on social distancing, touching and singing, we only held minimal number of services before the November lock-down. Our new vicar moved in during this strange period and has recorded a service in the church every Sunday. These are available to play back at any time here.
Meanwhile we continue to collect donations for the Daventry Food Bank using the box in the Church porch which is open daily, and if you know of anyone who would appreciate help, whether with practical tasks or just a friendly chat, please contact our Visiting Coordinator Judy Jordan on tel. 07752 384969 or email [email protected]
These suspensions of all services and public gatherings has a huge impact on our financial sustainability. We no longer receive offerings via the service collection plate, and our planned schedule of fundraising events has also had to be cancelled entirely.
We are thinking actively about new ways to fundraise safely, meanwhile if you care about the future of Badby Church and want it to be active and open, we would really appreciate your support. You can make a one-off donation by cheque or by bank transfer, or perhaps you might consider setting up a tax-efficient regular payment.
We really hope you will not mind this direct appeal. We are aware that many are facing fears, worries and concerns about the future.
If you would like to help, please contact the Treasurer, Frances Williams, on [email protected] or tel. 07717 337048. You can make a direct payment by using BACS internet banking to our account:
