 hamptonshire County  are commemorating this turning point in World War Tw
 o\, at The Holy Sepulchre.\n\n\nThe Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiv
 ing will take place at Holy Sepulchre Church\, Church lane\, Northampton a
 t 2.30pm on 8th June. \n\n\nThe 8th June was chosen because the primary m
 ilitary unit in the county at the time The Northamptonshire Yeomanry\, a t
 ank regiment\, did not go ashore until D-Day +2\, 8th June.  The Holy Sep
 ulchre is the ‘military’ church here in Northampton\, and was the chap
 el for the Yeomanry.
