DESCRIPTION:April 18th at 4.15 pm\n\nJoin us a for a Stations of the Cross
  (Maria Desolata) service. \n\n"Maria Desolata" translates to "Mary in So
 rrow" and refers to the Stations of the Cross being walked in reverse orde
 r\, mirroring Mary's journey back to her home after Jesus's death. \n\nTh
 e service includes prayers\, reflections\, and sacred art  and  invites 
 participants to contemplate Jesus' death and Mary's suffering.  \n\nThe 
 Stations of the Cross have formed part of Christian devotion for many cent
 uries because it offers a poignant way of following in the steps of Jesus 
 on the way to the Cross. \n\nIt originated when early Christians visited 
 Jerusalem and wanted to follow literally in the footsteps of Jesus\, traci
 ng the path from Pilate’s house to Calvary. They would pause for prayer 
 and devotion at various points. Eventually\, those pilgrims brought the pr
 actice back to their home countries and ever since then Christians of diff
 ering traditions have used this form of devotion.\n\nJoin us for this devo
 tional commemoration service as we walk through the Stations of the Cross 
 in reverse order and contemplate what it means for us\, our faith and rela
 tionship with Jesus.\n\nAfterwards refreshments will be served including H
 ot Cross Buns.
