But what exactly does this day commemorate\, and why is it so important?\n\nThe Day celebrates three significant events.\n\nOne: The finding of the True Cross by St. Helena\, in the early 4th century\n\nTwo: The dedication of the Church Of The Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. This ch urch\, believed to be built on the site of Jesus’ crucifixion and burial \, was consecrated in the year 335 AD.\n\nThree: The restoration of the Tr ue Cross to Jerusalem in 629 AD.\n\nIt only seems right\, as a church buil t to honour the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem\, to celebrate this day.
