DESCRIPTION:Thank you to all who supported our Open Afternoon. A lovely af
 ternoon in the end and the rain held off – it was so good to welcome fol
 k from other churchyards and share ideas and\, of course\, the main attrac
 tion was the tea and cake!\n\nThe butterflies were taking advantage of the
  sunshine\, and our champion bug hunters had great fun with sweep nets cat
 ching bugs in the long grass. They were taken carefully to Lisa our bug ex
 pert\, who identified bugs with wonderful names – dingy footman\, jumpin
 g zebra spider\, marmalade hoverfly\, mint moth…\n\nNow\, in September\,
  the clearing of the long grass has started with scythe mower and rakes\, 
 and we would love to have help with the final clear up of the churchyard i
 n preparing it for winter\, on Sunday 29th October 2pm onwards. Tea and ca
 ke again as a reward!
