DESCRIPTION:Join us for a less 'traditional' Organ Recital given by Chris 
 Milburn\, former parishioner & chorister who frequently practiced on our o
 rgan when he was younger.  Since then he has gone on to have a varied care
 er\, including sourcing the Compton Theatre Organ in Titchfield Festival T
 heatre - an instrument remarkable for its additional percussion\, bells & 
 whistles.\n\nEntry to this concert is free\, with a retiring collection in
  aid of the Music Foundation\, supporting the musical education of young p
 eople in our local community.\n\nChris writes: \n\n"So often\, church orga
 ns are only used to play the more serious works\, the hymns\, the psalms a
 nd the anthems. Whilst these works are amazing to listen to\, there is ano
 ther genre of music that rarely gets played\, or rarely played in public: 
 Pop\, rock\, film\, jazz etc.\n\nSo\, if you would like to hear the marvel
 lous organ of St Mary's as you would rarely hear it on a Sunday morning\, 
 why not pop along to hear a lighter side of music: Pink Panther\, ABBA\, Q
 ueen\, Jungle Book to name a few. There might be a few Souza marches\, get
 ting close to ‘normal organ music’ but great fun to play...\n\nSo plea
 se pop along on Friday 11th October at 7pm to St Mary's\, Fratton (for abo
 ut an hour) where you can hear a very different style of organ music.  I h
