Parish Priest Recruitment, APCM, and Electoral Roll information - Kintbury
Dear Kintbury parishioner,
1 Parish Priest Recruitment / Kintbury Parish Profile
Many thanks for the thoughtful responses and contributions to this process. If you meant to reply and haven't done so yet, we will take note of all responses. The PCC is meeting with the Associate Archdeacon, via Zoom on Monday.
A reminder that you are all invited to a general discussion on Walbury Beacon: looking ahead led by Rhodri Bowen, Diocesan Parish Adviser on Saturday morning, 10th July at 10:00am. Please see "From the Benefice Profile Working Group" link on the left hand side of this page for details on how to access this – pre-registration is necessary for meeting planning (an entirely straightforward process – click on the link to register and receive your personal link to the meeting).
2 APCM and Electoral Roll information
This is to inform you that the 2021 Vestry Meeting followed by the APCM will be held on Thursday July 29 at 7:00pm. While we are hoping that restrictions will have been safely lifted by then, there is still some uncertainty – and there could be people who may not wish to meet in an enclosed space if requirements of social distancing have been removed. At the moment, therefore, church / zoom or a combination are options. I will be back in touch closer to the date as we try to be both inclusive of as many people as possible, and responsive to individual circumstances.
I attach the formal notices of both meetings, together with forms for election to church warden and for proposal for PCC membership. It is a requirement that permission should be sought before proposing anyone for either of these. Deanery Synod reps are not up for election this year unless one of our three members wishes to stand down. Please see note below for obtaining forms from the benefice office.
The electoral roll is currently under its annual revision and will close on 14/07 until after the meeting. I attach a copy for you to check whether your name is included and the application form for enrolment. People on the roll are eligible to attend and vote at the APCM, to be nominated for churchwarden and after 6 months to stand for the PCC.
A list of the current PCC membership is attached.
As in-person worship returns to our churches, various rotas (cleaning / opening & closing / sidespersons / readers & intercessors / refreshments / flowers) which have been in abeyance will gradually need to be resumed – we hope with additional volunteers as well as previous members.
Our financial position has suffered from the loss of collections within services – as will be apparent when the annual accounts are presented – and we are very grateful to the people who have maintained their giving either through regular bank payments, or through the envelope scheme. Might you join one of these as a regular giver?
Many thanks to you all for your continued support of, contributions to and interest in our church life in Kintbury.
