DESCRIPTION:A Service of Morning Praise with Hymns from Complete Anglican
Hymns Old & New\n\n467 New every morning is the love\n26 All you who s
eek a comfort sure\n626 Take up thy cross the Savior said\n463 My song i
s love unknown\n\nThe Collect \nMost merciful God\,\nwho by the death and
resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ\ndelivered and saved the world:\ngra
nt that by faith in him who suffered on the cross\nwe may triumph in the p
ower of his victory\;\nthrough Jesus Christ your Son our Lord\,\nwho is al
ive and reigns with you\,\nin the unity of the Holy Spirit\, one God\, now
  and for ever.\n\nReadings : Jeremiah 31.31-34\; Hebrews 5.5-10\; Joh
 n 12.20-33\n\nJeremiah 31. 31-34\nThe days are surely coming\, says the LO
RD\, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the hous
e of Judah. It will not be like the covenant that I made with their ancest
ors when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt—
a covenant that they broke\, though I was their husband\, says the LORD.
But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after t
hose days\, says the LORD: I will put my law within them\, and I will writ
e it on their hearts\; and I will be their God\, and they shall be my peop
le. No longer shall they teach one another\, or say to each other\, ‘Kno
w the LORD’\, for they shall all know me\, from the least of them to the
greatest\, says the LORD\; for I will forgive their iniquity\, and rememb
er their sin no more.\n\n\nHebrews 5.5-10\nSo also Christ did not glorify
himself in becoming a high priest\, but was appointed by the one who said
 to him\,\n‘You are my Son\,\n today I have begotten you’\;\nas he s
ays also in another place\,\n‘You are a priest for ever\,\n according
to the order of Melchizedek.’\nIn the days of his flesh\, Jesus offered
up prayers and supplications\, with loud cries and tears\, to the one who
was able to save him from death\, and he was heard because of his reveren
t submission. Although he was a Son\, he learned obedience through what he
suffered\; and having been made perfect\, he became the source of eternal
salvation for all who obey him\, 10 having been designated by God a high
priest according to the order of Melchizedek.\n\nJohn 12.20-33\nNow among
those who went up to worship at the festival were some Greeks. They came t
o Philip\, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee\, and said to him\, ‘Sir\,
we wish to see Jesus.’ Philip went and told Andrew\; then Andrew and Phi
lip went and told Jesus. Jesus answered them\, ‘The hour has come for th
e Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly\, I tell you\, unless a grain of
wheat falls into the earth and dies\, it remains just a single grain\; but
if it dies\, it bears much fruit. Those who love their life lose it\, and
those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Wh
oever serves me must follow me\, and where I am\, there will my servant be
also. Whoever serves me\, the Father will honour.\n‘Now my soul is trou
bled. And what should I say—“Father\, save me from this hour”? No\,
it is for this reason that I have come to this hour. Father\, glorify your
  name.’ Then a voice came from heaven\, ‘I have glorified it\, and I w
ill glorify it again.’ The crowd standing there heard it and said that i
t was thunder. Others said\, ‘An angel has spoken to him.’ Jesus answe
red\, ‘This voice has come for your sake\, not for mine. Now is the judg
ement of this world\; now the ruler of this world will be driven out. And
I\, when I am lifted up from the earth\, will draw all people[a] to myself
.’ He said this to indicate the kind of death he was to die.\n\n\nWe pra
y for all who live and work in Charles Road\, Churchill Close\, Churchill
Road\, Winston Road\, Union Road and the parish of St. Faith's.\n\nPlease
see attached for Sunday Notes\n\nAll are welcome to our family friendly se
rvices that last approximately 1 hour and are live streamed on YouTube. We
