Hymns Old & New\n\n205 Glorious things of Thee are spoken\n67 Be still fo
r the presence of the Lord\n315 Immortal love\n494 O God our help in ages
past\n\nThe Collect\n	Bountiful God\, giver of all gifts\,\n	who poured yo
ur Spirit upon your servant Barnabas\n	and gave him grace to encourage oth
ers:\n	help us\, by his example\,\n	to be generous in our judgements\,\n	a
nd unselfish in our service\;\n	through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord\,\n
who is alive and reigns with you\n	in the unity of the Holy Spirit\, one
 God\, now and for ever.\n\nReadings:    Job 29.11-16\;     Acts 11.19-30\;
      John 15.12-17\n\nJob 29.11-16\nWhen the ear heard\, it commended me\,
\n and when the eye saw\, it approved\;\nbecause I delivered the poor w
ho cried\,\n and the orphan who had no helper.\nThe blessing of the wre
tched came upon me\,\n and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy
.\nI put on righteousness\, and it clothed me\;\n my justice was like a
robe and a turban.\nI was eyes to the blind\,\n and feet to the lame.\
nI was a father to the needy\,\n and I championed the cause of the stra
nger.\n\nActs 11.19-30\nNow those who were scattered because of the persec
ution that took place over Stephen travelled as far as Phoenicia\, Cyprus\
, and Antioch\, and they spoke the word to no one except Jews. But among t
hem were some men of Cyprus and Cyrene who\, on coming to Antioch\, spoke
to the Hellenists also\, proclaiming the Lord Jesus. The hand of the Lord
was with them\, and a great number became believers and turned to the Lord
. News of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem\, and they sent
Barnabas to Antioch. When he came and saw the grace of God\, he rejoiced\
, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast d
evotion\; for he was a good man\, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. An
d a great many people were brought to the Lord. Then Barnabas went to Tars
us to look for Saul\, and when he had found him\, he brought him to Antioc
 h. So it was that for an entire year they associated with the church and t
aught a great many people\, and it was in Antioch that the disciples were
first called ‘Christians’.\nAt that time prophets came down from Jerus
alem to Antioch. One of them named Agabus stood up and predicted by the Sp
irit that there would be a severe famine over all the world\; and this too
k place during the reign of Claudius. The disciples determined that accord
ing to their ability\, each would send relief to the believers living in J
udea\; this they did\, sending it to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.\n\nJ
ohn 15.12-17\n\n‘This is my commandment\, that you love one another as I
have loved you. No one has greater love than this\, to lay down one’s l
ife for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.
I do not call you servants any longer\, because the servant does not know
what the master is doing\; but I have called you friends\, because I have
made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father. You did not
choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit\, fru
it that will last\, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him
in my name. I am giving you these commands so that you may love one anothe
r.\n\n\nWe pray for all who live and work in Baring Road\, Edinburgh Close
\, Mountbatten Avenue\, The Green and the parish of St. John\, Northwood.\
n\nPlease see attached for Sunday Notes\n\nAll are welcome to our family f
riendly services that last approximately 1 hour and are live streamed on Y
ouTube. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Please ask for Gluten-Free Communio
