 enesis 22.1-14\nSome time later God tested Abraham. He said to him\, “Ab
 raham!”“Here I\nam\,” he replied.\nThen God said\, “Take your son\
 , your only son\, whom you love—Isaac—and\ngo to the region of Moriah
 . Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a\nmountain I will show you.
 ”\nEarly the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took 
 with\nhim two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough w
 ood for\nthe burnt offering\, he set out for the place God had told him ab
 out.\n On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distan
 ce.\n He said to his servants\, “Stay here with the donkey while I and 
 the boy go\nover there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.
 ”\nAbraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son
 \nIsaac\, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of the
 m went\non together\,\n Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham\, 
 “Father?”“Yes\, my son?”\nAbraham replied.\n“The fire and wood a
 re here\,” Isaac said\, “but where is the lamb for the burnt\noffering
 ?”\nAbraham answered\, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burn
 t\noffering\, my son.” And the two of them went on together.\nWhen they 
 reached the place God had told him about\, Abraham built an\naltar there a
 nd arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him\non the al
 tar\, on top of the wood.\nThen he reached out his hand and took the knife
  to slay his son.\nBut the angel of the LORD called out to him from heave
 n\,  “Abraham!\nAbraham!” “Here I am\,” he replied.\n\n“Do not
  lay a hand on the boy\,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I\n
 know that you fear God\, because you have not withheld from me your son\,
 \nyour only son.”\nAbraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram
  a  caught by its\nhorns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it
  as a burnt offering\ninstead of his son.  \nSo Abraham called that plac
 e The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said\,\n“On the mountai
 n of the LORD it will be provided\n\nRomans 6.12-23\nTherefore\, do not 
 let sin exercise dominion in your mortal bodies\, to make you obey their p
 assions. No longer present your members to sin as instruments of wickednes
 s\, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from deat
 h to life\, and present your members to God as instruments of righteousnes
 s. For sin will have no dominion over you\, since you are not under law bu
 t under grace.\nWhat then? Should we sin because we are not under law but 
 under grace? By no means! Do you not know that if you present yourselves t
 o anyone as obedient slaves\, you are slaves of the one whom you obey\, ei
 ther of sin\, which leads to death\, or of obedience\, which leads to righ
 teousness? But thanks be to God that you\, having once been slaves of sin\
 , have become obedient from the heart to the form of teaching to which you
  were entrusted\, and that you\, having been set free from sin\, have beco
 me slaves of righteousness. I am speaking in human terms because of your n
 atural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves 
 to impurity and to greater and greater iniquity\, so now present your memb
 ers as slaves to righteousness for sanctification.\nWhen you were slaves o
 f sin\, you were free in regard to righteousness. So what advantage did yo
 u then get from the things of which you now are ashamed? The end of those 
 things is death. But now that you have been freed from sin and enslaved to
  God\, the advantage you get is sanctification. The end is eternal life. F
 or the wages of sin is death\, but the free gift of God is eternal life in
  Christ Jesus our Lord.\n\nMatthew 10.40-42\n‘Whoever welcomes you welco
 mes me\, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. Whoever wel
 comes a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward
 \; and whoever welcomes a righteous person in the name of a righteous pers
 on will receive the reward of the righteous\; and whoever gives even a cup
  of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple—tru
 ly I tell you\, none of these will lose their reward.’\n\nWe pray for al
