On Boxing Day, we sent an email to reassure you that Sunday services would continue despite our 'elevation' to Tier 3 along with the statement that public worship is permissible in all tiers. However, the extraordinary and rapid rise in Covid cases on the island this week and our impending move to Tier 4 at 00:01 on New Years Day has led the PCC and Lay Worship Team to reconsider the situation. Sadly, and with heavy hearts, we have all come to the conclusion that the safe and responsible course of action is to suspend public worship during January. We will be monitoring the situation and will review before the start of February.
Our planned Epiphany service for Sunday 3rd January will move online - a zoom link will be sent out by Julia with the bulletin. The Christ Church Lay Worship Team will lead the service with Leisa and Colin hosting a coffee and chat session afterwards. (Leisa invited each church in the FYT parishes to make its own decision re the way forward and all have made the same decision to close at present.)
Christ Church will remain open for private prayer on Mondays and Thursdays between the hours of 9am and 3.30pm. We will let you know if this changes.
With every blessing, Christ Church PCC and Lay Worship Team.
