Church of England Diocese of Rochester Westerham

Towards Reopening our Church Building

26 Jun 2020, 9 a.m.

In response to the Government’s restriction on public worship comes to an end, our Standing Committee has met and we are planning to re—open our building for Sunday worship on Sunday 26th July, initially just for the 10.30am service. There is much to do, and so we may need to defer if this turns out not to be possible, so please keep checking for updates.

Services will look different to how we remember them from March, more details will follow.

Whilst it is easy to become fixated on the practicalities we should not lose sight that coming together to worship God and encourage each other is a matter for celebration. However I am mindful that some will be nervous about this and, for practical reasons, some may not be able to attend. It would be helpful to know if you feel you are unable to come back and would still benefit from some of our online and posted material.

You can read the Church of England's full statement welcoming this development here.

In the meantime, we are open for individual private prayer in the Katharine Chapel.

• Wednesdays from 11am – noon

• Saturdays from 2pm – 3pm

and our on-line activities continue.
