Written by Greystones resident, Catherine Stevenson, spoken by Alistair her husband, and filmed in situ, this poem asks the enigmatic question "Who are hands for?" During the last months hands have been very much in our minds - the need to wash and sanitise them, the work they do in caring for those suffering from Covid, clapping them on our doorsteps for the NHS. This stimulating poem challenges us to look at our hands, but then to grasp for more.
"I thorougly recommend this positive, thought-provoking poem", says local community worker, Peter Smithers. "Four minutes listening to it can only be time well spent - and something to ruminate on for much longer."
