A time of change

Church_news Notices

This is the first time we have been able to write to you with some news about the church. First of all the Rev. Reg Davies has retired and will no longer be involved with All Saints. Questions and enquiries come to me, Dawn the Parochial Church Council Secretary, or Keith Redfern or Beryl Brown the Church Wardens or to the Area Dean – Ian Smith. They will do their best to answer them.

At present we know we cannot go back into Sunday services or the Wednesday coffee morning until we know it is safe to do so and have both the Government and Church of England approval. We miss seeing one another and being there for the community. It also means our finances have been really hit.

There is not going to be a new vicar as such, there may be one shared with Conisbrough, but when the services restart a team made up of authorised and ordained people from the churches in the West Doncaster deanery and the Diocese of Sheffield, will be leading a morning service every Sunday. There will be an All Saints team leading as well! We are excited about the future, even if we are unsure what it will look like. Baptisms, weddings and funerals will all get covered.

Now there is quite a lot of sorting out and putting into order going on and its going to take a while. There will always be a welcome for volunteers and helpers of all sorts.

We really want to create a new and up to date Electoral Roll; this is a list of the people who feel a commitment to All Saints and have a connection with it. It requires you to fill in a simple form with your name, address and signature. It has a couple of tick boxes too. A form is enclosed for to you to fill in. If you do fill it in and return it, it has no element of commitment but does help us stay in contact with you and shows you want to be connected with All Saints. We will not be writing with begging letters.
