Lifting of COVID Restrictions

Church_news From_the_Vicar Notices

As announced by the government, the lifting of restrictions in England takes place on July 19th. We are thankful for the vaccination programme which has transformed the outlook of the pandemic and weakened the link between the virus and serious illness, hospital admissions and death.  However, not all risk has been eliminated, especially for some people with disabilities and those unable to receive the vaccination. We will therefore continue to exercise personal responsibility and manage risks to look after one another.

Our Joint Church Council have agreed that we will continue to require the wearing of face coverings whilst moving around the church. We will encourage you to wear them during the service, but this is not mandatory. We will continue to encourage you to sit in every other pew, but the space between households can be self regulated.  We may introduce one congregational hymn or song, but initially if singing indoors we will ask you to wear a face covering. Our Holy Communion practices remain the same, including the sharing of the peace. Thursday Holy Communion and Evensong at Bawtry will continue in the main body of the church.

These changes may be updated as further guidance is issued. Our Joint Council will meet on 8th September to review plans for the further easing.
