Kinoulton St Luke’s Church.
It is with great regret that the Churchwardens, PCC and Clergy have agreed that the church building will have to remain closed until the end of July, both for private prayer and for Sunday services.
In line with government guidelines in order to open the church building we have to carry out a full Risk Assessment, clean the church thoroughly and then ensure there are enough people willing, fit and able to “man the doors” to ensure social distancing and then clean the building, toilets etc. afterwards.
Regrettably the PCC feel that at the present time we are unable to carry out these requirements safely.
Added to this our Churchwardens, Sheila Hill our Lay Reader and Rev Maggie are all shielding on government and doctor’s advice until the end of July. This makes the holding of services extremely difficult.
However the PCC hopes very much that the church will be open for both private prayer and Sunday services by August.
A service of Sunday Holy Communion around our churches conducted by Rev Paul Massey is available on line at the All Saints, Cotgrave website and there is a regular Sunday Evening Prayer held via “Zoom” held every Sunday at 4.30pm, details from Sheila Hill or Rev Maggie.
Although we cannot offer services on Sundays and meet for our regular coffee mornings there are several services, prayers and other resources available on line such as the Church of England website www.churchofengland.org or our own Diocese at www.southwell.angliocan.org
Reverend Maggie and our Lay Readers are available should you need to contact them as below.

May I offer you some comfort in these difficult times in the words of
The Archbishop of Canterbury, The Right Reverend Justin Welby
Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy.
Sustain and support the anxious,
be with those who care for the sick,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may find comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen
Be Safe, Keep Smiling and in the words of Our Lord “Love One Another as I love You”.
