Churches back to a more usual pattern
From August, subject to review as the Covid-19 pandemic evolves, we will be back in a more usual pattern of services across the benefice. Our open air services over the last few months have been a great success, and we will continue to hold services outside if the weather allows. If the weather is poor, then we will hold the service indoors, with some restrictions in order to help keep those more vulnerable amongst us safe.
We will be having a brief Holy Communion service at the end of some services. This will be inside church, with appropriate C-19 restrictions. In line with best practice, the congregation will receive the consecrated bread and the presiding priest (usually Stephen) will receive the wine on behalf of us all. "+HC" in the table below denotes when a service will be followed by Holy Communion.
Online Evening Prayer at 5:30pm on Sundays continues as usual.
On the nth Sunday of the month our morning services will be in the following villages* 1st: Willoughby, Wysall (+HC)
* 2nd: Willoughby, Widmerpool (+HC)
* 3rd: Willoughby, Wysall (+HC)
* 4th: Willoughby (+HC), Widmerpool
with the services at Wysall and Widmerpool at 11am, and those at Willoughby at 9:45am.
29th August is a 'fifth Sunday'. There will be an outdoor service for the whole benefice at Widmerpool 11am, followed by Holy Communion.
All the best -- Stephen
