Church of England Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham Normanton-on-Soar

St James Church has now re-opened!

7 Jul 2020, 9:30 a.m.

From Sunday 12 July, we are delighted to announce that St James Church’s doors will once again be open for public worship as well as for private prayer.

Because of the continued risk from COVID-19 and the continuing restrictions, services will be different in some ways from what you may be used to: there will be no singing, all services will be held in the Nave, some pews will be cordoned off, to ensure social distancing, and numbers will be restricted to 30. Hand Sanitisers will be available, and we will be asking people to use them on arriving and on leaving the Church. No Collection will be taken, but there will be a plate for offertories and GiftAid envelopes near the door.  We will continue to be open every day of the week between 10 am and 4 pm and it has been lovely to see the church visited and used once more.

To make sure that everyone visiting the Church remains safe, we are asking that should anyone visit the Church who later suspects that they may have COVID-19, they should phone either Brian Archbold on 01509 842341, or email [email protected] . The Church would then be closed for 72 hours and a full clean will be carried out before it re-opens.
