Corona Virus

With the increase in measures to combat the Coronavirus we have been asked to put a plan in place for our church.

The first thing we would like you to note is that if you become ill or are isolated at home please make sure that you contact the Church Wardens or myself and let us know that you are ill and what is needed to help you in your situation.

Vicar Margaret 0115 967 3805

David Rodgers 0115 953 1654

Liz Turley 07425 145282

With the information we receive from you we can access help as we have volunteers to collect and deliver medicines and shopping to those who cannot get out and have no family support on hand. Our volunteers can be directed to you if you need assistance by myself and the wardens.

All  Services in Church are now cancelled together with all other Church related activities. However we feel it is important that we somehow can meet up as a Church Family and so we are moving on-line.

St.Mary’s will be worshipping this Sunday and every Sunday, during the Pandemic, in our Virtual Church, on Zoom.

Tthe following community events will not be taking place until the situation improves:

Community Cinema

Tea Dance

Seniors’ Afternoon Tea

Messy Church

St.Mary’s Tots

But we still need to be church and we do this by staying in contact by phone, email or our Whats App Group. By Prayer and by acts of worship together where possible. We are praying every evening at 7.00pm for private prayer in our homes. We are lighting prayer candles in our windows. We hope that by praying 'together' in our own homes that we can still feel part of our church family.

Please go to our website (, where we have a dedicated page for 'doing church' in this time of isolation (Virtual Church), We also have a  facebook page.
