DESCRIPTION:Benediction is a beautiful word. It means a blessing\, a greet
 ing\, an expression of kindness and love. Benediction is also a beautiful 
 service of the Church. It makes real to us in an impressive way the fact t
 hat God is always reaching out to us\, to bless\, to strengthen\, to heal\
 , to assure us of His loving kindness.  The greatest blessing that God cou
 ld ever bestow upon us was the sending of his Son\, Jesus.  He is no longe
 r present in the physical body that was His in Palestine many centuries ag
 o\, but Anglicans believe that He is spiritually present among us in the S
 acrament which He appointed. "This is my body\," Jesus said over the bread
  at His Last Supper with His followers.\n \nBenediction is a popular servi
 ce\, a people’s service. It is especially for those who acknowledge an e
 mptiness in their lives that only God can fill. \n\nAs we sing songs and l
 ook upon the Blessed Sacrament held in the gilded monstrance\, we open our
  hearts to God\, knowing that He who sent the blessing of His Son to light
 en the darkness of the world still sends through the same Son His blessing
  to us. \n\nAt the close of our service there is the opportunity to receiv
 e a special prayer for healing and wholeness as the priest blesses individ
 uals with the Sacrament.  If you would like this ministry\, please sit on
