The government announced in June that places of worship could open for public worship from Saturday, 4th July. The guidelines were very clear that churches could, if they so wished, host a wider range of public acts of worship, including Morning and Evening Prayer, Mass, Baptisms and Weddings. The PCC of Saint Paul's Monk Bretton decided on a phased approach to opening from Sunday, 12th July. This began with Mass at 10am on Sundays and Thursdays, after which there came the reintroduction of Mass on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings, at 7pm and 10am respectively. After this, baptisms and weddings were allowed from the beginning of September. More details can be found on the COVID pages of this website.
