We've got a few things in the pipeline for this Advent and Christmas season!
First up, our Advent groups this year (more info here) will be held on Zoom on a Saturday morning at 10.30, beginning on 28th November.
Why not download the special Comfort and Joy Countdown to Christmas (available from this page) to get you and your family into the spirit of the season?
The Church of England's campaign for Advent and Christmas 2020 is called Comfort and Joy, which I think we can all agree has been a bit lacking so far this year! To sign up for email reflections or check out what national streamed services will be available during the period, just click here. There is also an app in development (coming soon, apparently) and there will soon be the option to listen to the reflections via your smart speaker too!
We'd love for you to be involved in our Christmas and Advent celebrations this year, although we cannot do all the things we might usually enjoy. In the spirit of the Comfort and Joy theme, we'd love to know what brings you comfort and joy in these darker days. Why not share a photo, craft, poem or reading with our community? You can email your choice (anything from Christmas jumpers, to a line of scripture) to [email protected] or send it to us on Facebook Messenger, and we'll be posting one per day on our social media, as a kind of virtual Advent calendar. Please include a few lines about your choice, why it's special to you or what you like about it.
We're also putting together a video Carol Service and need some brave souls to read and sing for us! If you, or someone you know, would like to be involved, please get in touch and we'll divvy up the poems, readings and carol slots. We'd really love to hear from you!
