For over a year now, Dewsbury South Community Support, of which St Saviour's is a founding partner, has been providing food parcels to those in need. We average about 20 a week.
Whilst many of our supplies come from Yorkshire Fairshare, run by the big supermarkets, we are experiencing shortages due the current national haulage problems. We also receive supermarket donations of groceries 'on their sell-by date', where the same problems are apparent.
To help us to continue to supply parcels, personally-donated groceries and toiletries would be very useful. Attached is a list of basic items which come in most useful to keep a family for a week.
If everyone donated a single item a week, that would greatly help.
