We will be having a 9am Service at the Hook War Memorial
On Remembrance Sunday we hold a service of Holy Communion a little earlier that usual, at 9:45. This is so the service ends in time to join the procession to the War memorial for the 10:50 Act of Remembrance. There is also an option to remain in St John's for an Act of Remembrance in church, which may be better suited for those who are unable to join the procession through Hook and to stand for the outdoor service.
Following the 9:45 Service at St John's the church will process to the War Memorial. The uniformed organisations - Scouts, Cubs, Brownies & Guides etc will also process to the War Memorial. We will meet for a short act of Remembrance, and to lay wreaths. It's a big family friendly event, come & join us.
A service of Evening Worship
St John's Lunch Club - 2nd Tuesday each month, book via the Benefice Office, £6 per person. Home cooked food, and a nice friendly atmosphere. All Welcome.
We mainly meet weekly on Zoom, apart from typically the 1st Wednesday in the month where we meet in person at St John's, Hook. On the third Sunday at St John's our service is a Morning Worship with Junior Church (with no Holy Communion). This is a more informal service, with music lead by our music group.

The first Sunday is an all age Service (no-communion & family friendly) and on the 5th Sunday we join with other churches in the Benefice for a Benefice Service which may be in Hook or one of the other churches in the Benefice. See our website for details.

On the 3rd Sunday each month we have Morning Worship with Junior Church (with no Holy Communion).
This is followed by coffee.

We aim to have a Holy Communion service at St John's every Sunday, on the third Sunday, this is usually at 6pm as part of our evening worship.

Messy Church is usually on the 3rd Friday each month at St John's straight after school

On the 2nd Sunday, it is Sung Eucharist, and the 4th Sunday is Holy Communion - both services have the choir lead music, but on the Sung Eucharist service the choir will sing an anthem.

Our All Age Service this month features Christingle - look out for the smells of oranges, and the fun of making their Christingles
Come and join us for an Advent Carol Service - beautiful music, calm setting - Advent - a time of waiting and preparation for both the celebration of Jesus's birth at Christmas
On the first Saturday each month, we usually have a cake sale, drop in have a coffee and buy cakes. We sometimes also have crafts for sale, things which the craft group make - and may include Christmas table decorations or other seasonal products.
BCP Holy Communion. The 8:30am services rotates around the benefice. Once a month, it is at St John's.
On Sunday the 7th of December we welcome Bishop Philip to lead our Benefice Confirmation Service, as its a benefice service, we will be joined by people from the Heckfield, Mattingley & Rotherwick churches.
A popular event in Hook, outside the front of St John's we sing carols, have mulled wine, eat burgers and hotdogs. We will be joined by the Rainbows and Brownies who meet at St John's - I hear they are practising! There will also be craft & activities inside for small children. A fun event for the whole family.
Join us for our Carol Service, followed by mince pies and mulled wine.
Come along to the crib service, where the children dress up and join in - there are lots of cute moments, and a lovely start to Christmas for the whole family.
The Midnight Holy Communion Service starts at 11:30pm at St John's - a lovely service, and always so nice to have a full church!
