In March Woodmancott was very fortunate to have a guest speaker, James Gray, with us for Evensong. James farms at Wonston and has sheep all around the surrounding villages grazing on farmland. He proved a very inspirational speaker and spoke very thought provokingly. We stayed quite a time after the service, discussing his reflections and enjoying the liquid refreshments on offer. Our other service in March, Mothering Sunday, is yet to take place as I write.
I have to admit I am struggling to stay cheery what with all the depressing news at the moment, so it is comforting to meet neighbours and friends at Church. The PCC had an especially lovely Lent Supper hosted by Penny Dixon and it did remind us all, of the many challenges Jesus faced along the way. I hope we can confront these testing times with the same strength. I also think that we do have the best and the most admired health service in the world.
