 he next two Sundays we welcome Revd\nAlma Organ and husband Robin to take 
 the\nCommunion Services in our Benefice. Alma tells\nme they love coming t
 o our churches as they feel\nat home\, are always made so welcome and are\
 ngrateful for all the help and support they receive!\nPlease do come along
  to Peopleton or White\nLadies Aston and say hello to Alma and Robin\n\naf
 ter the service.\n\nDon’t forget to the fundraising event for St Kenelms
 \nChurch to be held this Saturday. Only £3.50 for a\ndelicious traditiona
 l English Cream Tea – a little\nmore if you fancy strawberries and prose
 cco too.\nRaffle\, crafts and a tombola – all to help maintain\n\nthe ch
 urch.\n\nAlso for your diary in support of St Kenelms.\nAn evening of Jazz
  with Martin Veasey and Friends\nat 7.00pm on Saturday 18 May in the Conse
 rvatory\nat Cowsden Hall. £12 for a fabulous evening’s fun\nand enterta

 ension Day\n\nWhen I think of Ascension Day\, I always remember a\npicture
  I saw when I was a child - or maybe the years\nhave just played tricks wi
 th my memory!.......\nIt was a black and white cartoon-type picture of a b
 ig\ncloud with just a pair of legs\, from about the knees\ndownward sticki
 ng out beneath it! The legs were\nmostly covered in a white robe and the f
 eet\, with the\nheels down and the toes at a 45 degree angle to the\nlegs\
 , wore a pair of what were then called\, ‘Jesus’\nsandals. I never cea
 se to be amazed at what the\nhuman brain chooses to remember.\nThursday 9 
 th May is Ascension Day and as in the last\nfew years\, the Bowland Benefi
 ce community has\nbeen invited by Revd Sarah Dangerfield and the\nFive Ali
 ve Parish to join them in a service of\nHoly Communion for Ascension Day. 
 This year’s\nservice is at St Michael’s\, Cropthorne at 7.00pm.\nA mes
 sage from the Diocesan Safeguarding\n\nTeam….\n\n“Please help us with 
 our forthcoming safeguarding\naudit\, by completing a confidential\, anony
 mous\nsurvey on your impressions and experiences of\nsafeguarding in the D
 iocese.\n\nWe would like as many people as possible to fill this\nin befor
 e the survey closes on 1 May.\nYour views matter - we want your voice to b

 all know from the television\, newspapers etc\neven in our rural communiti

  Christian Aid Charity has a challenge for us all….\nWith your help\, we
  can work towards a world where\nfamilies can escape the trap of poverty a
 nd fulfil their\nambitions. Seven days\, so many ways to fund lasting\n\nc
 hange.\n\nFundraise with us\, from community events to\nindividual challen
 ges\, Christian Aid Week is seven days\nof fundraising fun – your way\, 
 to fund lasting change.\nTake part and fundraise as part of our new 70K in
  May\nchallenge or choose your own event.\nHowever you fundraise\, togethe
