 coming weeks\nEternal God\, Light of the nations\,\nin Christ you make all
  things new:\nguide our nation in the coming days through the\n\ninspirati
 on of your Spirit\,\n\nthat understanding may put an end to discord and al
 l\n\nbitterness.\n\nGive us grace to rebuild bonds of trust\nthat together
  we may work for the dignity and\n\nflourishing of all\;\nthrough Jesus Ch
 rist our Lord. Amen.\n\nI am putting this Pews news together on the\n\nann
 iversary of D Day.\nYou\, like me probably watched\nthe commemorations hel
 d in Normandy last evening\nand the mind-blowing sight of over 4000 Britis
 h war\ngraves individually lit\, loving and respectfully tended\n\nover al
 l these years.\n\nThere is nothing to add other than prayers for lives\nlo
 st and the state of the world 80 years on.\nGod our refuge and strength\,\
 nas we remember those\nwho faced danger and death in Normandy.\n\neighty y
 ears ago\,\n\ngrant us courage to pursue what is right\,\nthe will to work
  with others\,\n\nand strength to overcome tyranny and oppression\,\n\nthr
 ough Jesus Christ\,\nto whom belong dominion and glory\nnow and for ever. 
 Amen.\nLord of all nations\,\nWe honour the bravery and sacrifice\nof thos
 e who served.\nGrant us similar courage to recognise\nand restrain evil in
  our own day\nand may those who lead the nations of the world\nwork togeth
 er to defend human liberty\,\nthat we may live peaceably one with another.

 ton\,\na concert of modern classics with tea and cake to raise\nfunds for

 avourite hymns\, readings and\nprayers will be held at St Nicholas’ Chur
 ch\, Peopleton\non Sunday 30 June at 4.00pm.  It will be a celebration\nt
 o thank anyone who does anything at all\, large or\nsmall\, to help keep t
 he church building and God’s\nministry alive and vibrant.   Refreshmen
 ts will be\nprovided and you will receive a warm welcome\nwhether you are 
 a regular visitor or have never set\nfoot inside the church.  We look for
