 \nhunt for children and chocolate and refreshments\nserved following the 1
 1.00am service.\nA big thank you to everyone who has worked to\nget our ch
 urches ready for the Easter celebrations.\nThank you to those who have cle
 aned and dusted\,\ntidied our churchyards\, arranged wonderful flower\ndis
 plays and hidden Easter eggs!\n\nThe final Theme for our Lenten journey is
 \nResurrection and salvation\n\nThe reading is Colossians 1:13-14 (a tradi
 tional Easter\npassage on salvation and redemption)\nEaster Day is a day o
 f celebration and the\nconsequences of Easter span our whole lives. Our\nf
 aith is not built upon speculative theology and\ntheories\; it is built up
 on the historical footsteps of\nChrist on this very earth\, his historical
  death and his\nhistorical resurrection. Having a calendar day\nespecially
  dedicated to his resurrection helps us to\nremember that we are celebrati
 ng a real day in\nhistory on which death was defeated.\nWe need to celebra
 te both the everlasting and all-\nencompassing nature of Christ’s death 
 and\nresurrection\, and at the same time remember that\nChrist lived\, die
 d and rose again as one of us\, on our\n\nearth\, at a set point in time.\
 n\nEaster is a time to heighten our understanding of who\nGod is and the d
 epth of love he showed\, and\ncontinues to show\, to us.\n\nOur Easter Day
  services should\, of course\, be fun\,\nhappy and celebratory\, but we mu
 st also embrace the\nmagnitude of the day which we are remembering in\nawe
 \, wonder and thanksgiving.\nPrayers for Easter\nLoving God\,\ngive your P
 eace\nto my heart and life\,\nto my home and family\,\nto my community and
  country\,\nto the whole world and all its peoples\nthrough Jesus Christ\,
  our living Lord. Amen.\nLord\, the resurrection of Your Son\nhas given us
  new life and renewed hope.\nHelp us to live as new people\nin pursuit of 
 the Christian ideal.\nGrant us wisdom to know what we must do\,\nthe will 
 to want to do it\,\nthe courage to undertake it\,\nthe perseverance to con
 tinue to do it\,\nand the strength to complete it. Amen.\nChrist yesterday
  and today\,\nthe beginning and the end\,\nAlpha and Omega.\nAll time belo
 ngs to him\, and all ages.\nTo him be glory and power\,\nthrough every age
  and for ever. Amen.\nWe remember those who have died. We thank them\nfor 
 their love and guidance\, for memories happy and\nsignificant and for all 
 they have meant to us.\nFor Christians who cannot celebrate openly today\n
 because they live in parts of the world where there\nare repressive\, into
 lerant and brutal regimes.
