 \n\nDiary Date\n\nAscension Day – Thursday 29 May\nThe congregation of t
 he Bowland Benefice has once\nagain been invited to join Revd Canon Sarah\
 nDangerfield and the Five Alive Parish congregation in a\nCommunion Servic
 e for Ascension Day in Fladbury\n\nChurch at 7.00pm.\n\nIt is always a goo
 d opportunity to meet up with\nfriends from across the Deanery.\n\nA big 
 ‘Thank you’ to everyone involved in organising\nthe wonderful events o
 f last week to commemorate\nVE Day and also to all those who took part. Th
 e bells\nrang out in Peopleton and White Ladies Aston – there\nwas a bar
 beque\, street party and simple supper to\nenjoy – music and camaraderie
  abounded.\nLet us keep in our thoughts and prayers those areas of\nour wo
 rld where there is bloodshed\, destruction and\nhatred. Indescribable and 
 indiscriminate killing and\ninhumanity which is beyond understanding. We p
 ray\nfor the people of Gaza\, Ukraine\, Myanmar\, Pakistan\,\nSyria\, the 
 Congo\, Sudan…….the list is endless.\n\nPrayers for peace\n\nLord\, ma
 ke me an instrument of your peace.\nWhere there is hatred\, let me sow lov
 e\;\nwhere there is injury\, pardon\;\nwhere there is doubt\, faith\;\nwhe
 re there is despair\, hope\;\nwhere there is darkness\, light\;\nwhere the
 re is sadness\, joy. Amen.\n\n(St Francis) \n\nO God\, compassionate and 
 merciful\, where your\nchildren tear each other apart you are also torn.\n
 Full of confusion\, longing for peace we bring you\n\nour violent world\,\
 n\nwhere the poorest pay the cost of powerful hatreds.\n\nIn this time of 
 need\,\nopen our hearts and minds to your will\,\nand show us how to pray.
