 White\nLadies Aston! Warm coats and wellies may be the\norder of the day a
 s the congregation meets at 10.30 at\nchurch and then walks to the surroun
 ding fields to\n\nbless the crops.\n\nThe funeral of Bill Jones will take 
 place in Peopleton\non Tuesday at noon. Bill was a well known and hard\nwo
 rking member of St Nicholas’ congregation over\nmany years. May he rest 
 in peace. We send our love\nand condolences to Caroline and family.\nAscen
 sion Day is this Thursday – everyone will be\nmade very welcome in Fladb
 ury for the special\n\nCommunion Service.\n\nThree events happening in the
  Parish Room this week\n– on Monday an illustrated talk by Mike Tomlinso
 n at\na cost of £5 and on Friday a showing of the film\nMoulin Rouge for 
 a suggested donation of £5 to\ninclude an ice cream. For more information

 g of Christian\n\nAid Week 2023\nwhich runs from 14 to 20 May\nIt is a wee
 k where Christians all over the UK work as\none to support people in all p
 arts of our troubled\nplanet without reference to nationality\, gender or\
 n\ncreed.\n\nIt is a week which helps us to turn our thoughts to the\nwide
 r world and gives us opportunities to understand\nmore fully the struggles
  that many people across the\n\nglobe face from day to day.\nIt is a time 
 when we can help by digging into our\nwallets and bank accounts to help th
 ose across the\nworld committed to relieving poverty and sickness\n\nwhere
 ver it occurs.\nThe theme this year is:\n\nNo mother should have to choose
  which child to\n\nsend to school –\n\nA reality for so many especially 
 now with the extra\nhardships caused by climate changes and global crises.
 \nPlease do take a few minutes to look at Christian Aid’s\n\nvery inform
 ative web site.\nGill Creed\, Peopleton’s local organiser says…….\nT
 here will be a banner outside St Nicholas Church in\nPeopleton advertising
  the week.\nEnvelopes will be posted through the letterboxes of all\n\nthe
  houses in Peopleton.\n\nThere will be a red Christian Aid bucket in The P
 antry\nshop in Peopleton and at The Crown pub in Peopleton.\nDonations can
  be posted or just put into these red\n\nbuckets.\n\nDonations can also be
  made directly through the\n\nChristian Aid website.\n\nA donation of £10
  could provide a farmer with 2kgs of\nseed to plant a crop of pigeon peas 
 – a hardy drought\nresistant\, nutritious food for his family.\nSome Chr
 istian Aid Prayers\nGod\, gardener of Eden\,\nwho flung stars into space\n
 and nurtures the tiniest plant\,\n\nlift our hopes and dreams above the lo
 ss and damage\n\nof our suffering planet\,\n\nthat we might share your lon
 g-dreamed vision which\nvalues all life - the pea as much as the plant\,\n
 fill us with your life-giving hope and inspire us with\nyour creative Spir
 it now\, and in the age to come.\n\nAmen.\n\nGo into the world working tog
 ether\nfor change so that everyone can thrive\nand share life in all its f
