A time to worship\ntogether and catc h up on family news and the\n\nsummer’s events.\n\nNext week’s evening service in White Ladies Aston will\nbe a Thank you Service\, to recognise and to say thank\nyou to everyone who supports the work and life of the\n church and community. (Edward King 1829-1910)\n……..Our young people\n\nFor ou r teenagers who have received their A level and\nGCSE results over the las t couple of weeks. Some of us\nmay have children or grandchildren at this stage in life\nand we all recognise how stressful and how difficult a\n\nt ime it can be.\n\nThere are so many pressures imposed on young\npeople by themselves\, their schools\, sometimes their\nfamilies\, by society and so cial media. We think about\nthem all – those celebrating good results an d those\nworrying about their not so good results.\nWe think about young p eople facing decisions about\nschool\, college\, university and leaving ho me for the\nfirst time. Maybe competing for an apprenticeship or\nlooking for a job to begin their working-life.\nWe think about parents who too hav e to adjust to the\nchanges in family life and the realities of their chil dren\nmoving away. – empty nest-syndrome can be\ndevastating to some as they adapt once more to a life\nwithout children around the home.\nWe ask and hope that young people will realise that\nthere is more to life than g ood exam results and that\nworth is not measured by bits of paper. Life is bigger\nand better than that and has so much to offer.\nSo we say to our young people….\nBe who you are and not what the world wants you to\n\nbe .\n\nWe cannot always choose the music life plays for us\nbut we can choos e how we dance to it.\n\nCollect\nGod of constant mercy\,\nwho sent your S on to save us:\nremind us of your goodness\,\nincrease your grace within u s\,\nthat our thankfulness may grow\,\nthrough Jesus Christ our Lord.
