  licensed during Evensong at 5:30pm\,\non Saturday 2 December in Worcester
  Cathedral.\nEverybody is welcome to this special service.\n\nA bit about 
 Stir up Sunday\n\nThe collect in the Book of Common Prayer for the last\nS
 unday before Advent begins….Stir up we beseech\nthee……and in days go
 ne by was a gentle reminder\nthat it was time to make and cook the pudding
  ready\n\nfor Christmas Day.\n\nFamilies gathered together to mix and stea
 m the\npudding. Everyone took a turn to stir the mixture\n(thirteen ingred
 ients representing Jesus and his\ntwelve disciples) and make a special wis
 h for the year\nahead. By tradition the pudding was stirred from East\nto 
 West in honour of the three Wise Men who visited\n\nthe baby Jesus from th
 e east.\n\nIt is sad that very few children and young people know\nof this
  custom any more as it is quicker\, easier and\ncosts no more\, to buy rea
 dy-made puddings from the\n\nlocal supermarket.\n\nComing up during Advent
  in the next few weeks\nSunday 3 December at 10.30am. Traditional\nChristi
 ngle service in Upton Snodsbury.\nSunday 3 December at 6.30pm there will b
 e a very\nspecial Advent Carol Service in White Ladies Aston\nwith the WLA
  Singers. Come and hear the Advent\nreadings and sing some wonderful stron
 g Advent\nhymns\, support Revd Claire and St John’s in this new\nventure
  and feel part of our wonderful Bowland\nBenefice as we begin the journey 
 towards Christmas.\nFriday 8 December at 6.00pm Nativity at The Crown.\nCl
 aire writes…what do a baby\, a donkey\, sheep\,\npossibly a camel and ho
 pefully you have in common? \nThey will be taking part in\, or watching\,
  the Nativity at\nThe Crown in Peopleton. Dress for the weather and\njoin 
 us for a short play of the most famous event in\nhistory. Bring your torch
 es and singing voices and\nremember what Christmas is really about. No\nph
 otographs to be taken during the play thank you\,\nbut come along and be p
 resent in the moment. Then\nwarm up afterwards in The Crown.\nWeekend of 9
  and 10 December. Upton Snodsbury’s\nChristmas Tree Festival. Warden Hel

 ill be taken for the work of the\nChurches Conservation Trust to raise fun
