DESCRIPTION:Holy Communion for Easter Eve. This is the climax of worship o
 f the Christian year - \n\nThis service is a real experience of passing fr
 om darkness to light\, offering hope to all.\n\nFrom earliest times Christ
 ians have gathered through the night of Easter to recall the story of God
 ’s saving work\, from the creation of the world through to the death and
  resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Easter Vigil marks the end of 
 the emptiness of Holy Saturday\, and leads us into the celebration of Chri
 st’s resurrection.\n\nThe congregation moves outside for the lighting of
  the Easter fire\, from which the Easter candle is lit. A joyful processio
 n returns into the now brightly lit church\; the Exsultet - an ancient hym
 n of triumph and rejoicing - is sung\; the story of our faith is read\, ba
 ptism vows renewed\, the Easter Gospel is proclaimed with joy and splendou
 r\; and the First Mass of Easter is celebrated with music\, flowers\, bell
 s\, colours and many rejoicing voices of "Alleluia! Christ is risen!"\n\nW
 orship is followed by cake and prosecco as we celebrate our Risen Lord. \n
 \nThis is a longer service than usual\, but one that will not leave you un
 changed. Come\, greet the Risen Saviour as he brings light into darkness\,
  and life from death.
