DESCRIPTION:Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent - the 40-day season 
 that leads up to Holy Week and Easter.  The whole season of Lent is an opp
 ortunity for spiritual growth and reflection on how we live our lives.  As
 h Wednesday in particular is a chance to be reminded of God's goodness\, a
 nd to acknowledge our own slips and failings.\n\nSt Mary's has an Ash Wedn
 esday eucharist (the service where we receive the blessed bread and wine).
   It also is a service where worshippers can have the sign of the cross ma
 rked on their foreheads in ash - hence the name of the day.\n\nThe service
  is at 7 pm - and all are welcome to share in it.
