DESCRIPTION:Maundy Thursday is the day when Christians remember Jesus shar
 ing the Last Supper with his disciples before his death on Good Friday.  I
 t gets its name from the Latin word 'mandare'\, from which we get the word
  'command'.  Christians remember Jesus's command: "Love one another as I h
 ave loved you." \n\nAt the Last Supper Jesus washed his disciples' feet - 
 an action which is recreated during this Mass to remind everyone present t
 hat we should serve one another with humility.\n\nAfter all who wish to re
 ceive Holy Communion have done so\, the remaining consecrated elements are
  placed in the beautiful Garden of Repose which has been created on the si
 de altar.  The sanctuary and high altar are stripped bare\, the lights are
  dimmed\, and the vigil begins.  This is a time of silent prayer intersper
 sed with Bible readings\, remembering Christ's mental agony as he faced hi
 s approaching death.  Although the vigil continues until midnight\, you ma
 y leave at any time (please go out in silence).
