Church of England Diocese of Worcester Saint Michael and All Angels Norton Stourbridge

CHURCH SERVICES October to December 2021

Worship Services from October to December

We will, from Sunday 3rd. October hold a service on St Michaels every Sunday morning, rather than alternate weeks as we’ve done so far this year. We also intend to hold an additional evening informal service of worship and prayer each month. On Sunday mornings, we plan each month to have two Holy Communion services (normally on the 2nd. and 4th. Sundays), one Service of The Word (1st.Sunday) and one Celebrate service (3rd. Sunday). We plan to hold Holy Communion services at 10am on alternate Wednesday mornings (1st. and 3rd. Wednesday). Please note Holy Communion services are subject to us getting adequate clergy cover. We intend to run this pattern for 3 months (although of course Christmas will make December a bit different) and review it.

Sunday Worship @ 5

The final Zoom-only Sunday Worship @ 5 service will be at 5 pm on 26th. September. Thank you to all those who have been part of this faithfully for the last eighteen months or so. Starting in October there will be an evening service each month in each church. I would very much like to hear what people who have been participating in the Zoom-only service would like going forward, so we know whether or not to Zoom the evening services at St James’ and what sort of services to provide. Do join in on Sunday this week, or send you thoughts to me by email. Many thanks. Rev Diana.

Confirmations are being held again but in limited numbers. We have the opportunity to take some people who wish to be confirmed to the next service at the Cathedral at 6.30 pm on November 21st. If anyone is thinking about confirmation, and wants to know more, I will be running a short four session course as preparation during October/early November. Please contact me if you are, or think you may be, interested in exploring this further. We already have two candidates in the benefice and it would be lovely to have more join them. Many thanks. Rev Diana.
