It was great to be part of the Calling Young Disciples Learning Hub Weekend on Zoom last weekend (7th and 8th of May) thinking about the Future and Mission in our Benefice along with Jan, John, Maryanne and Anne (Our Mission Enabler)
Part of the weekend encouraged us to think about our dreams for our work with children, young people and families and we were asked to write a letter to a friend in five years’ time telling them all about what was happening in our churches for these target groups. Between us as a group we had some really exciting thoughts and it was a really good exercise to do which enabled us to think about the possibilities for the future.
Following on from this it was really great to chat through action points for things that we are focusing on currently such as our potential new Youth Fellowship Group working with other churches in Stourbridge to put on a group for 11-14 year olds and also planning a social for a launch event on Saturday 17th July. Interwoven through our planning has to be prayer so we are asking St Michael’s and St James to support us in praying for this venture. Please pray for potential leaders to run this group, for the young people that this group would be a group that they can take ownership of, for the other churches in Stourbridge that we have linked with that they too would be really excited and keen to get involved with this project.
We will be updating you regularly with prayer requests for this exciting venture!
Finally, in our group we really felt it was important to be able to equip and encourage potential leaders for being part of different activities for Children, Young People and Families through training and support. Myself and Anne Bachelor our Mission Enabler are going to be looking into potential training resources we could use for this purpose in the future so watch this space!
Thank you all for your continued prayers and support, if you would like any more ">information about the CYD project and what we are doing currently please do get in >touch with myself, John and Jan Martin, Maryanne or John N.
