DESCRIPTION:This is our Patronal festival (St Nicholas' Day itself is on 6
 th December). In memory of the stories surrounding St Nicholas as a giver 
 of gifts (Santa Claus)\, we aim to ensure that children who might otherwis
 e not get presents at Christmas do so. We do this by asking all our parish
 ioners to bring or leave suitable gifts to be distributed by the Salvation
  Army based at Malton.  Gifts may be left in the church porch (they will b
 e put in a safe place on a daily basis). Following the service we shall be
  turning on our flood lights ready to celebrate Advent and the Christmas p
 eriod and to bring light in the darkest months of the year.
