Candlemas Prayer

31 Jan 2021, 3:15 p.m.

Rev Steve led us in a time of worship and reflection, inviting us to reflect on how Jesus came to bring forgiveness, a purpose, comfort and to rescue us from times of despair. Rob Law adapted Howard Thurman's Candle prayer:

We will light a candle this Candlemas; Candles of joy despite all the sadness.
Candles of hope when despair keeps watch; Candles of courage for fear ever present.
Candles of peace for tempest tossed days; Candles of grace to easy heavy burdens.
Candles of love to inspire all our living; Candles that will burn the whole year through.
