Church of England Diocese of York Gate Helmsley

Covid-Update September 2021

31 Aug 2021, 9 p.m.

Current guidance now allows us to hold services in our churches.

We must still remain cautious for the protection of ourselves and others.

Although there are no restrictions on numbers attending normal services, we ask that you maintain social distancing - taking advice from the churchwardens/sidespersons about seating.

Please also wear a suitable face covering and use the hand sanitiser provided as you enter and leave the service.

The Host (wafers) will be offered but not wine at communion services;

Singing (of hymns) is now allowed and there may be music played during the service.

Despite these restrictions we remain as the living church and we reach out to all in whatever way we can.

Our church is once more open every day for personal prayer and you are welcome to come inside and sit for a while. If you would like to go into the church at other times, please get in touch with one of the churchwardens. We hope soon to resume providing tea/coffee/soft drinks and biscuits for visitors (free of charge)

We would also love to welcome you at our Harton Benefice Morning Worship online on some Sundays at 10am. Join us from your home.

Please visit our Benefice website where you will find resources to help us to be together in prayer and worship online.

The website will also post any updates to the present directives:

Ours thoughts and prayers are, as always, with you.

Be safe, be kind, stay strong.
