 rst came to prominence in 2006 when\, aged just seventeen\, she was a fina
 list in the BBC Young Folk Awards. In 2007\, the Nottingham 18-year-old re
 leased a debut album Threads which\, as BBC Radio 3’s Verity Sharp decla
 red\, “caused quite a stir” making the folk scene sit up and take noti
 ce of this young performer’s incredible voice. Threads went on to receiv
 e plaudits in The Independent\, The Guardian and Mojo and in 2009\, Notman
  released her second album The Life of Lilly to similar acclaim before tak
 ing a musical sabbatical to go to university.\n\nRuth returned to the UK f
 olk scene in style in 2019\, collaborating with Sam Kelly and Damien O’K
 ane on the album ‘Changeable Heart’ (Pure Records)\, reintroducing aud
 iences to her knock out voice and unique brand of acoustic folk which insp
 ired a generation of young singers and musicians.\n\nAs ever there will be
  a warm welcome from the St Nicholas' Church team\, and their famous reaso
 nably priced bar will be serving craft beer\, good wine and a selection of
  non-alcoholic drinks.
