DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Summer in Suffolk with an evening of music in one of
the county’s most picturesque settings. Bring a picnic to have before o
r after in the church grounds. A bar will be open from 6pm and during the
interval. Brother Tree Sound String Quartet\, one of the country’s most
innovative and exciting chamber groups\, will play a programme of music ca
lled ‘Live\, Love\, Laugh’ featuring quartets by Imogen Holst\, Beetho
 ven\, Mendelssohn\, and a surprise piece about Suffolk. You’ll have to c
ome along to hear what that is!\n\nThe Musicians\nDescribed as 'vivid and
intense' (Arts Desk album review 2025) and playing with 'unfettered passio
n and a sense of forward momentum' (BBC Music Magazine 2025) Brother Tree
Sound formed in 2017 out of a love for the powerful intimacy of the string
quartet. The group’s members are deeply connected by a passion to explo
re the great canon of the string quartet repertoire whilst staying tuned t
o the continuous shifting landscape of today's classical music scene. With
three albums generating over 10 million streams worldwide\, a recent sold
-out debut at Kings Place London\, a grant from the Vaughan Williams Found
ation\, and with numerous performances in music clubs\, on concert platfor
ms\, at music festivals\, outdoor stages and folk music clubs\, the group
is blazing a trail\, inspiring audiences through their projects and perfor
mances. As a reviewer of their King’s Place concerts wrote: ‘The playe
rs were completely committed\, whether tapping their instruments\, playing
harmonics or getting growls and whimpers out of their instruments […] a
real tour de force.’\n\nIn 2025\, the group released an album of early
 20th-century French quartets by Ravel\, Tailleferre\, Milhaud\, and Durey
with First Hand records. The album has received acclaim from both national
and international critics who commented on the 'fine attentive performanc
es' (MusicWeb International)\, while another described it as 'beautifully
integrated' (Australian Strings Association). Furthermore\, it gained 4 st
ars review in BBC Music Magazine.\n\nhttps://www.brothertreesound.com/\n\n
