DESCRIPTION:At our Wednesday Morning Prayer at 10am on 18th February there
  will be an Ash Wednesday service signalling the beginning of Lent. Our mi
 nister will be offering to sign our foreheads with a black cross of ash\, 
 ashes made from the previous year's palm leaves. The Ashes symbolise DEATH
 \, REPENTANCE AND PURIFICATION. Ash Wednesday recognises human brokenness 
 and a need for salvation. It is a day for deep introspection on human mort
 ality and our need for spiritual renewal.
